Can the Fish Pads leak or smell?
No. The Fish Pads are hermetically sealed. There is no leakage and no smell. Even if you load them with three times the weight they were designed for, they will not burst.
Can I go dancing while wearing the Fish Pads?
Yes, absolutely. Dancing, running to catch a bus, lifting the groceries or your child, rushing down the stairs, no problem at all. The Fish Pads are perfectly capable to withstand daily life challenges.
My friend wants to try them
No worries! You can let your friend try them. Just be aware of the following: The Fish Pads only adjust to the weight and foot as long as the fish are still alive. Once the fish have died, the shape of the Fish Pads will remain. Similar like a memory foam would.
Are the Fish Pads sensitive to temperature?
We have tested the function of the Fish Pads for all temperatures from -5 degree Celsius to +40 degree Celsius. With that, they should be fit to withstand most regional climates.
Are the Fish Pads causing trouble with Airport Security checks?
No. The Fish Pads don’t contain any metal or any other substance which is deemed as a safety hazard. Also, they are able to withstand the lower environmental pressure of an airplane cabin.
What if the fish have already died by the time I unbox my Fish Pads?
We apologise! This was not supposed to happen! We would like to make it up for you. Just send us a picture of your invoice/receipt. And we will immediately send you a fresh shipment for free. But if you prefer, we can also give you your money back.
What about the fishes? Is this animal torture?
The fishes used inside the Fish Pads are farmed and raised by us with one single purpose: To cushion your feet. During their upbringing, the fishes are trained to withstand pressure. Over the weeks of training, we slowly increase the pressure in these training sessions. Until the fishes will be achieve a substantial resistance to external pressure once they become adults. By the time they are put into the Fish Pads, they are totally able to deal with the pressure in a high heeled shoe. Once you will start wearing the Fish Pads, the fishes inside will immediately feel familiar with the situation due to their training. The fishes also have water, enough reserves of oxygen and food supply. All packed up inside the Fish Pads. The fishes in the Massage Fish Pads can endure the pressure for 14 days of wear. And the fishes in the normal Fish Pads at least for a few steps. Ultimately, wearing Fish Pads is not more torture than any fish that you would order in a restaurant.
Is it normal that the massaging stops when I sit down?
Yes! The fishes react to pressure. When you are sitting down, or also during times when you are not wearing the shoes, the fishes will relax and won’t move than much. That’s why the massage function appears to stop. But once you stand up again or once you’ll walk, the fishes will feel the pressure of your body weight. And they will respond to it by wiggling and by moving around. Trying to find the optimal position inside the Fish Pads.
I like the massage function. What to do after the massage stops after 14 days of wear?
If you like the sensation of the massage on your feet, then go and pick the Massage Fish Pads. Not the regular Fish Pads. Because the Massage Fish Pads will provide a massage effect for about 14 days of continuous wear. Once the massage effect will end (after about 14 days of wear), you can continue to wear the Massage Fish Pads. From this moment on, they will simply work like the regular Fish Pads. So, they will continue to provide optimal cushioning effect. For at least 2 more years. After 2 more years, they will still remain fully tight. But they will become a bit harder than they are supposed to be. Hence, after 2 years, we recommend to have them replaced. Not because of the risk of a leak, but solely for comfort reasons.
If you like the massage effect so much that you would like to always feel that massage effect, you can replace the Massage Fish Pads after 14 days of wear with a fresh pair of course. We offer a special loyalty discount for repeated customers.
How long do the Fish Pads last?
The regular Fish Pads and the Massage Fish Pads both can be worn for a minimum of 2 years. If you wear them for more than 2 years, you will feel that the Fish Pads will start to turn a bit harder. They will never burst though.
Where do you ship from?
Our production facility is located in Malaysia. And we are shipping from there. The shipping takes about 5 days to most destinations around South East Asia. And up to 10 days to destinations in Europe and the Americas, Australia, Africa and the rest of Asia.
The shipping costs are included in the price of the product.
Can I wear the Fish Pads also in flat shoes?
The Fish Pads have been designed and tested specifically for high heeled shoes. The shape, the cushioning effect and the resistance offered by the fishes was designed specifically for high heeled shoes. If the demand will be large enough, we might consider developing and selling Fish Pads for flat shoes, too.
If you want to try out wearing Fish Pads in flat shoes, you may give that a try. We can’t guarantee that it will feel perfect though.
What kind of fish are you using in the Fish Pads?
We breed small anchovies for use in the Fish Pads. In our fish nursery, we breed and train the fish regularly. By applying a slowly increasing amount of pressure on them over time. Until they will get used to be under pressure.
While wearing the Fish Pads, you will never get to see the fishes or get in any contact with them. They are completely sealed and not visible.
Can I wear them in sandals?
Yes, by all means! Thanks to the self-adhesive patch, the Fish Pads won’t fall out of the sandal. And they won’t be visible when you are wearing the sandals.
